Star Wars: The Force Awakens is almost upon us. And Disney isn’t wasting any time for ramping up promotions of the movie.
This time we get the official Star Wars app for iOS and Android devices. It displays breaking news about the film, social media updates, interactive features, and special events. Basically, it’s all things we love from the galaxy far, far away.
Also, it has countdown timers to big releases, Augmented Reality experiences, lightsaber training (you can’t be too prepared), as well as soundboard and GIF features that show off clips from the franchise.
If you’re inclined, you can even take Star Wars selfies with some of the famous characters of the series. Of course, the app dresses you up with the appropriate garb.
Unfortunately, the app isn’t currently available for us here in the Philippines. We’re hoping it will be in the future because we really want to be kept in the loop. Plus, we want to practice our lightsaber-wielding skills.
