SanDisk expands mobile storage line

You store hundreds, if not thousands upon thousands of photos, videos, and files on your mobile phones and tablets. You can’t keep them all on these devices though, unless you want to slow down your devices or want them to disappear once your phone decides to conk out (because it eventually will). And so you’ll need physical and cloud backups of all your precious files.

This is where companies like SanDisk come in. The storage solutions provider is bringing in four new mobile storage products into the country. Here’s a quick rundown of what we’re getting:

200GB microSD card
SanDisk is future-proofing your smartphones with its new microSD card that can support up to 200GB. Durability isn’t an issue as SanDisk promises this microSD card is water-, temperature-, X-ray-, and magnet-proof. According to Candy Gao, country manager for Hong Kong and Philippines as long as your device supports 64GB, this microSD card will work. There’s no official suggested retail price yet as this will be released in the third quarter of this year.

iXpand Flash Drive
For iOS users who want a more seamless transfer of files from your devices, SanDisk introduces the iXpand Flash Drive. You can configure it automatically to sync your photos and videos to the drive once you plug it in. It can also play your media on the drive immediately on your iPhone or iPad. But more importantly, it’s easier to offload your files from your iPhone and iPad to your Mac and PC. It’s available in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB capacities and it works with iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, and iPad mini. The device should be running iOS 8 or 7. Prices for the four variants are as follows: P3,800 for the 16GB; P5,500 for the 32GB, P8,000 for the 64GB; and P12,000 for the P128GB.

UltraDual USB Drive 3.0
Android users will also be able to transfer files from your mobile devices to PCs or Macs with the UltraDual USB 3.0. You can move up to 64GB of content from your OTG-enabled device to your Mac or PC. With high-speed USB 3.0, file transfer is faster, promising speeds of up to 130MB/s. It comes in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB storage capacities with SRPs of P699, P1,299, and P2,999, respectively.

Dual USB Drive with Type C Connector
Now, if you have a device that uses the newest USB Type C connector, SanDisk also has an external storage solution for you. The Dual USB Drive has a Type C connector on one end and USB 3.0 on the other. It’s the first of its kind for SanDisk and it comes with 32GB capacity. It’ll be available starting next month and it’ll retail for P4,199.
