(Voyager) beefs up the service to include pre-fight videos, news, and information beginning today, all the way up to the main Pacquiao-Mayweather showdown on May 3.
Like the rest of the services under SafeZone, access to the sports page will be free, enabling users to read updates without having to worry about mobile data charges.
Participation in a cultural milestone
Dindo Marzan, AVP for Product Development and Management of Voyager, believes that through this service in SafeZone, more users can participate in Philippine history in the making via digital technology.
“The fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather will be one of the great cultural events of the decade. By giving Filipinos free mobile data access to coverage about the fight, they can be engaged with what is sure to be a historical milestone for the Philippines,” Marzan said.

Marzan thinks that the live Twittercast can serve as an all-in-one information clearing house for anyone interested in the fight.
“Television coverage can only provide a viewer with so much information – you’re limited to the commentator’s analysis and what’s there on the screen.
