Organized by the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) under the theme “Driving ASEAN Forward,” this year’s summit brings together automotive brands, industry stakeholders, and technology providers to showcase developments shaping the region’s electric mobility landscape. Through its participation, MG aims to introduce more Filipino motorists to the possibilities of electrified driving and demonstrate how its expanding vehicle lineup addresses different mobility needs.

At the MG booth, visitors can get a closer look at three models from its New Energy portfolio: the MG4 Urban EV, MG S5 EV, and MG HS PHEV. Each represents a different approach to modern mobility, from fully electric driving to the flexibility of plug-in hybrid technology.

The MG4 Urban EV, recognized as the 2026 Best Electric Small Car in the UK and Australia, stands out as a practical yet engaging choice for urban mobility. Offering an all-electric range of up to 403 kilometers, it combines everyday driving convenience with responsive performance through three steering modes and four regenerative braking settings, including One-Pedal mode. Its spacious cabin, generous legroom, and 30 storage compartments further make it a versatile companion for daily journeys.

The MG S5 EV brings together sporty design, dynamic performance, and everyday comfort in a fully electric compact SUV. Built on a dedicated electric vehicle platform with rear-wheel drive and multi-link rear suspension, it delivers a balanced and engaging driving experience. Its credentials are further reinforced by international recognition, including the 2026 Best Affordable Car Technology Package of Europe award, alongside multiple distinctions in Singapore and Thailand in 2025. Powered by a CATL battery, the MG S5 EV combines trusted battery technology with practical electric mobility.

The MG HS PHEV, recognized as the 2025 and 2026 PHEV of the Year in the UK, offers an appealing combination of electric efficiency and long-distance flexibility. Its 21-kWh battery provides an all-electric range of up to 120 kilometers, while its combined driving range reaches up to 1,300 kilometers. Powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and electric motor system delivering a combined output of 272 PS, it offers both responsive performance and everyday practicality. Inside, a spacious cabin, 12.3-inch infotainment display, wireless charging, and advanced MG Pilot safety features complete the experience.

MG’s participation in PEVS reflects its continued efforts to broaden the availability of New Energy vehicles in the Philippines. By offering both battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), the brand provides customers with more options as they explore alternatives to conventional internal combustion engine vehicles.

“Participating in the Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit allows us to connect with more Filipino motorists and give them a closer look at the possibilities of New Energy mobility,” said Mr. Wei Wei Zhang, President of MG Motor Philippines. “At MG, we believe that the transition to electrified driving should come with choices that suit different needs, lifestyles, and driving preferences. Through models like the MG4 Urban EV, MG S5 EV, and MG HS PHEV, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to making innovative automotive technology and more accessible mobility solutions available to Filipino customers.”

The 14th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit runs from October 22 to 24, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the SMX Convention Center Manila in Pasay City. Visitors are invited to drop by the MG booth, explore the MG4 Urban EV, MG S5 EV, and MG HS PHEV, and discover how MG is making New Energy mobility more accessible to Filipino motorists.
