Chinese mobile brand Gionee is following up the svelte ELIFE S5.5 with a new powerful flagship, the ELIFE S5.1.
The ELIFE S5.1 is powered by a Mediatek MT6592 1.7GHz octa-core processor and runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Gionee’s Amigo 2.0 UI. It also features a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Gionee boasts that the ELIFE S5.1 boasts great audio with 3D surround effect and better bass technology.
If you’re more interested in camera quality, Gionee pack is an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. Taking selfies and group shots with the front cam just became easier with 5-megapixel front camera with an 88-degree wide angle lens.
Other smart features packed into the ELIFE S5.1 include Guest Mode and Glove Mode. Guest Mode allows you to hide certain sections like call logs, messages, and albums. Glove Mode makes it easier to use the phone with gloves on. And if you want to quickly startup operations, this phone has a quick operating gesture-based function. For example, you can open the camera by drawing a “C” on the screen.
Brand ambassador Ellen Adarna was on hand at the smartphone’s official launch last March to showcase the new device.
