Brands take inspiration from each other. There’s only so much you can do that’s truly original. So, it doesn’t come as a surprise to us that Lenovo’s new consumer hybrid laptop looks like the Microsoft Surface. The Lenovo Miix 720 is a versatile hybrid machine that even comes with its own new stylus.

At 2.4 lbs, there’s a bit of heft to it but it’s still easy enough to carry around. It has a 12-inch QHD+ touchscreen display (2,880 x 1,920 resolution), up to 7th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, up to Windows 10 Pro, up to 16GB DDR4 memory, and up to 1TB PCIe SSD. The device comes with Thunderbolt 3 port, which allows for up to 40Gbps data transfer and even the possibility of connecting the Miix 720 to 4K monitors.

The Miix 720 comes equipped with an IR front camera, which brings Windows Hello login support for the device. You can use this device as a standalone tablet or attach the full-size backlit keyboard for easier typing. Aside from the keyboard, though, Lenovo created a new Active Pen 2 stylus that uses Windows Ink. It has 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, you can get a pretty good, precise drawing experience. Lenovo promises up to eight hours of battery life with an always-on USB port, letting you charge mobile devices even with the Miix 720 powered off.

The Miix 720 bundled with the keyboard starts at US$999.99 (around P49,500) and comes in Champagne Gold and Iron Gray. The Active Pen 2 is sold separately with a price that starts at $59.99 (around P3,000). The Miix 720 will be available in the US starting April, while the Active Pen 2 will be available by next month.
