Berghaus Urban Adventure Games brings first app-based race to the Philippines

Bringing adventure racing to the digital age, Berghaus Urban Adventure Games introduces an app-based race format to the country. The first race will happen on November 15, 2014 at the Globe Circuit Event Ground in Makati. It will be in conjunction with the 2014 Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour.

Three-member teams will receive their challenges on their smartphones as they try to rack up points before the time runs out. Challengers will take on everything from obstacle courses to CrossFit stations as well as solve riddles and puzzles along the way. Teams can choose to join any of the three categories: Fun, Competitive, or Elite. Fun category will be scored but won’t be timed, while Competitive and Elite have to finish as many challenges as they can under time pressure.

Spectators and participants can even track their progress in real time as the team scores will be up online the entire day. A leaderboard will also be flashed regularly on a giant LED screen at the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour.

Registration fees are P2,400 for Fun category, P2,700 for Competitive, and P3,000 for Elite. You can register at Toby’s branches in Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Glorietta 2, SM North EDSA The Block, and SM Mall of Asia as well as RUNNR in Bonifacio High Street.

The Berghaus Urban Adventure Games is organized by Cyburban. Click here for more information.
