Aston Martin collaborates with Red Bull Racing for one gorgeous hypercar

This is what happens when you two automotive giants collaborate: a street-ready Formula One car. Aston Martin has partnered with Red Bull Racing and they recently unveiled the aptly named AM-RB 001 concept.

This hypercar shows off the amazing skills of Red Bull’s aerodynamics genius Adrian Newey and demonstrates what he can do outside of the sport. As you can see it doesn’t look like the RB12 but it can be as comfortable on the track as it is on the road (it’s completely road legal).

It can produce a lot of downforce but you won’t see wings on this car, instead this is generated by the shape of the car’s underbody. The AM-RB 001 won’t be using a hybrid V6 engine but will use a bespoke naturally aspirated V12 engine and have one horsepower for every kilogram of weight (so just imagine how fast this can go).

“I’ve always been adamant that the AM-RB 001 should be a true road car that’s also capable of extreme performance on track, and this means it really has to be a car of two characters,” Newey said. “That’s the secret we’re trying to put into this car—the technology that allows it to be docile and comfortable, but with immense outright capabilities.”

We won’t see the interior anytime soon but the car will be a two-seater. And people are already interested. According to its CEO Dr Andy Palmer, at least 370 customers have shown interest in the AM-RB 001. And they originally planned to release 99 AM-RB 001 road cars that’ll cost between £2 and £3 million (roughly P125 million and P188 million, respectively) but now they plan a limited run of 150 road cars and 25 track-only vehicles.
