Xiaomi Mi Kids Watch 4 and 4 Pro Launched

Xiaomi China recently launched a new smartwatch built for kids, Mi Kids Watch 4 and Mi Kids Watch 4 Pro. It comes with a rectangular 1.78″ AMOLED display, dual cameras, 4G connectivity, and is waterproof up to 20m.

This watch runs on Qualcomm’s Wear 2500 platform. The chipset has integrated 2G, 3G, 4G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GNSS connectivity, which enables Xiaomi Mi Kids Watch 4 and 4 Pro to support several LTE frequency bands and have access to 4G VoLTE + WiFi HD video calls in more than 200 countries worldwide.

Both the watches are compatible with Android 4.2/iOS 8 devices or later. A 920mAh battery also powers the watch lasting five days in standby mode.

In addition, the Mi Kids Watch 4 has two 5-megapixels wide-angle cameras. On the other hand, Mi Kids Watch 4 Pro comes with 8MP and both watches with AI support, therefore, allowing children to capture images from their own unique perspective.

Both the Mi Kids Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro will be available in China starting April 9, for the following prices:

  • Mi Kids Watch 4 – CNY 899 (or around PHP 6,500)
  • Mi Kids Watch 4 Pro – CNY 1,299 (or around PHP 9,400)

Exploring new ways on how to expand a smartwatch’s function, Xiami introduces new multiple built-in learning applications. This performs AI assessment on accuracy of English pronunciation and other learning software. Children can interact with the watch by asking it questions, which brings interesting interactive experience in English learning. This feature however may only be available in China and not for exporting.

No word yet on whether it will be launched in the Philippines.
