Huawei is set to launch an addition to their Huawei Watch GT Series, the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro, the most comprehensive model in the series to date. It comes with a lot of upgrades compared to its predecessors. Huawei has made the smartwatch for those who desire to both incorporate technology into their daily lives and want to be a professional outdoors. Let’s have a run-down on the specs of this feature-packed smartwatch for now and stay tuned for our full review to know more about it later on.
The GT 2 Pro is only available in one color in the Philippines, Night Black. It comes with a Black Fluoroelastomer Strap, giving it a comfortable feel when worn. It features a premium design with its titanium body, sapphire glass surface and beautiful ceramic back. It effortlessly combines sports and style as it also provides up to 200 watch face options to choose from, some of these watch faces inspired by nature. This is by far my favorite design among all other Huawei watches, although I wish it had more accessories or different straps to choose from.
Fitness and health companion
More than just a fashion accessory, it might be the perfect fitness and health companion accompanying every step of one’s fitness journey wherever they go. Compared to its predecessors, the GT 2 Pro has more workout modes with about 100+ modes available – including the recently added golf driving range, skiing, snowboarding and cross country skiing. When starting a workout, the GT 2 Pro can automatically detect six workout modes: outdoor running, outdoor walking, indoor walking, indoor running, elliptical and rower. It also supports GPS Route Back for six outdoor modes: mountain hike, hiking, trail run, outdoor walk, outdoor run and outdoor cycle. GPS Route Back uses GPS tracking to help guide users go back to their starting point.
TruSeen 4.0+ heart rate monitor
The device offers attentive health features such as its proprietary TruSeen 4.0+ heart rate monitoring technology that supports low power consumption. It can accurately monitor the heart rates of users of most skin tones through innovative light path results. It adopts a 6-in-1 LED lens to better converge light, allowing the light to penetrate through blood and bring continuous, rapid and accurate heart rate monitoring results for users. Combined with AI smart heart rate algorithms, heart rate monitoring is more accurate than ever. On top of this, the device can intelligently track the user’s heart rate in real-time, 24 hours a day as well as monitor one’s sleep quality. The watch will also alert the user if one’s heart rate becomes too high or too low.
SpO2 Detection
The GT 2 Pro is equipped with SpO2 detection which records the user’s blood oxygen levels. This is to help the user understand one’s current physical condition, so that one can decide whether to take a break or continue to exercise. This can also help in avoiding accidents, providing an insightful reference in extreme sports such as mountaineering.
TruSleep2.0
As an important part of Huawei’s wearable ecosystem, the GT 2 Pro uses improved technology to make sleep monitoring easier and more efficient. The GT 2 Pro features TruSleep2.0 for sleep-quality monitoring. After four years in R&D and developed optimization, the Huawei TruSleep2.0 is an industry-leading infrared-based technology for sleep tracking.
Stress monitor
The GT 2 Pro taps into the HUAWEI TruRelax technology to provide 24/7 pressure monitoring for users, keeping an eye on users’ mental health.
Battery
The GT 2 Pro also provides a reliable and impressive 2-week battery life thanks to Huawei’s self-developed low-power wearable chipset. It also features Huawei Smart Power Saving 2.0 that can intelligently detect your wearing situation and user scenarios.
The GT 2 Pro is also the first in the series to support Reverse Wireless Charging. This means that Huawei smartphone users can conveniently charge their Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro wirelessly without having to lug around a power bank.
Smart Assistant
By pairing the GT 2 Pro with one’s smartphone, it allows the user to seamlessly connect to Bluetooth calls, listen to music, get message notifications and more. The GT 2 Pro also supports a wide Bluetooth signal range. When connected to one’s Huawei smartphone, you can view your contacts and call log. Furthermore, users can reject, accept and return missed calls from one’s call log and make outgoing calls from one’s contacts list.

Huawei is launching the GT 2 Pro on November 7, 3pm on Huawei’s official YouTube Page. The Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro will be available for only PHP 11,999. Additionally, Huawei announced that from November 7 to November 12, 2020, consumers who pre-order via Lazada and Huawei Online Store can get freebies that are worth PHP 7380! Premium freebies will be given from November 13 to 26 in Huawei Concept Stores and dealer stores nationwide.
