Huawei MatePad T10: Affordable family tablet

Have you been looking for an affordable gadget that each member of the family can use? You’re in luck because the Huawei MatePad T10 is a great device to keep your children educated and entertained during these unprecedented times. It comes in a fun ‘Deepsea Blue’ color, has a 9.7-inch HD screen and weighs just 450 grams for its size. In addition to this lightweight form factor, the curved nature of the tablet allows for ergonomically safe gripping for kids. It is also capable of clear audio, as the sides of the tablet have two sizable cavity speakers that emit quality sound enhanced by Huawei Histen 6.1 software. In addition, the speakers provide 9.1-channel 3D surround-sound support, Bass Booster capability and additional configuration options for audio customization.

Inside the Huawei MatePad T10 is a Kirin 710A chipset that has an octa-core processor. This allows the tablet to run a variety of tasks efficiently yet at a high performance. The MatePad T10 also has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of available storage space. The user interface EMUI 10.1 simultaneously works with the chipset to provide an intuitive and easy experience for all ages. The 5,100mAh battery of the MatePad T10 coupled with the 5V/1A charger charges the tablet in 4 hours.

The Huawei MatePad T10 has a variety of family-friendly apps located in the specially designated Kids Corner, a virtual safe space where parents can customize the tablet experience for their children. This Kids Corner includes apps like Recorder, Camera, Kids Painting and Multimedia (a place where parents can securely share with their children photos and videos). Kids Corner is also only opened when it recognizes your child’s fingerprint. Your child also restricted from leaving Kids Corner without a passcode so they can’t access your own apps and the internet without your consent. For those with a data-enabled MatePad T10, you can even restrict third-party apps (such as unwanted text messages) from reaching your child.

Within the included App Gallery, parents can download more apps for their children to use along with the ability to place time limits for each app as well. Predownloaded into the MatePad T10 are apps such as Azomee, which has engaging games, educational TV shows and fun DIY crafts. In downloadable apps like Baby Panda’s School Bus kids are taught good manners and responsibilities by accompanying a panda on her daily errands. ChuChu TV contains various songs and nursery rhymes that expand your kids’ vocabulary. Educational apps such as ABC SpellingMath Kids Learning and Monster Class focus more on formal schooling. The App Gallery is the third largest app distributor in the world, so there should be no issue finding the perfect app for your kids’ personal needs. The App Gallery is also where adults can find essential apps for themselves, such as GCash, PayMaya, iFlix, Shopee and Lazada.

In terms of child safety features, the Kids Corner has a TÜV Rheinland-certified Eye Comfort mode which protects your children’s eyes. In addition, posture and bumpy road alerts notify children to adjust themselves so that they are using the tablet healthily, and it can even pause a session if the child does not physically fix their positioning. Lastly, eBook mode enables the tablet to adjust colors and mimic the look of paper to either assist children with their reading experience or help you read their favorite fairytale to them.

MatePad T10 is a great overall tablet that can do almost anything due to its variety of apps and features. It is especially tailored for those with children, as it can be used as both a secure educator and entertainment system for them while you are busy with other tasks. Adults can use the tablet too for anything they may need it for, whether it is messaging, checking work emails, word processing, online shopping, or just simple web browsing.
