Toyota Motor Philippines beefs up its local electrified portfolio by bringing in popular names. Perhaps the most anticipated one is the arrival of the new Land Cruiser FJ just mere months after it launched in Japan. With it is the updated Land Cruiser HEV and the all-new Hilux in 2 flavors – Diesel and full-electric.
Leading the lineup is the highly anticipated Land Cruiser FJ, positioned as a more compact member of the Land Cruiser family. It combines traditional off-road capability with a more city-friendly footprint. Toyota describes the FJ as standing for “Freedom and Joy,” reflecting the adventurous spirit that has long been associated with the Land Cruiser badge. The model adopts a retro-inspired design characterized by its upright stance, squared-off proportions, and rugged styling cues reminiscent of the original FJ Cruiser.

Powering the Land Cruiser FJ is a 2.7-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine producing 166 PS and 245 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 4×4 system for both trims. To enhance off-road capability, the FJ is equipped with features such as a Differential Lock, Auto Limited Slip Differential, and a Second Start Mode designed to improve traction in challenging terrain.
Inside, the cabin takes a straightforward and utilitarian approach, featuring numerous physical controls intended for ease of use during outdoor adventures. Both variants receive a 7-inch instrument cluster and leather upholstery, while the higher VX trim adds a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a panoramic view monitor.
Active Traction Control comes standard across the lineup, while Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is reserved for the range-topping VX variant.
Joining the FJ at Toyota’s exhibit is the new Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid, marking the introduction of electrification to the brand’s flagship SUV. While visually similar to the conventional diesel-powered LC300, the hybrid variant distinguishes itself through subtle exterior details, including a Jet Black Garnish treatment.

The biggest changes, however, are found under the hood. Replacing the 3.3-liter V6 diesel engine is an electrified 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 gasoline powertrain producing 415 PS and 650 Nm of torque. Toyota has also fitted the hybrid model with electric power steering, one of the few mechanical differences separating it from its conventional counterpart.
Toyota’s electrification push extends beyond SUVs with the introduction of the Hilux BEV, the first battery-electric version of its popular pickup truck to arrive in the country.

The new Hilux adopts a redesigned front fascia shared with the latest diesel-powered model, although the electric version receives a closed-off interpretation of the grille design. Power comes from an electric motor producing 196 PS and 469 Nm of torque paired with a 59.2-kWh battery pack. Toyota claims a driving range of up to 315 kilometers on a full charge.
The Hilux BEV also receives a comprehensive list of modern features, including LED headlights with Auto-Levelling capability, Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wireless Charging Pad, Panoramic View Monitor, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.

Meanwhile, the diesel-powered Hilux remains available in seven variants. It continues to use Toyota’s 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV turbodiesel engine, producing 204 PS and up to 500 Nm of torque when paired with the 6-speed automatic transmission. MT variants generate 420 Nm of torque.
Depending on the variant, the diesel Hilux can be equipped with features such as LED headlights with auto levelling, a rear differential lock, electronic parking brake, seven airbags, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.
Toyota has priced the Land Cruiser FJ at PHP 2.235 million for the TX variant and PHP 2.575 million for the VX. The Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid carries a sticker price of PHP 6.93 million, while the all-new Hilux diesel range starts at PHP 1.772 million. The Hilux Conquest 4×2 is priced from PHP 2.273 million, while the battery-electric Hilux BEV is available for PHP 2.99 million.
