The WRC History of Japanese Manufacturers' Challenges, Again!

In Celebration of Rally Japan 2022, the Special Exhibition Returns!

FORUM8 Rally Japan 2022, the Japanese round of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), will begin on November 10, 2022. Fans have been eagerly awaiting this event ever since it was called off two years in a row.

Datsun 1800SSS P610(1973)

The last Rally Japan event was held in Hokkaido in 2010. After an interval of 12 years, the venues will move to Aichi and Gifu prefectures, where the world’s leading teams will be pitted against each other. This is a great chance to observe the breathtaking skills of the top drivers up close, along with the novel performance of vehicles built under the new Rally 1 regulations. Can a Japanese-made car win the home race for the first time since the Subaru Impreza S10 in 2004? There is this and so much more to look forward to!

Toyota Celica GT-Four ST165 (1990)

To coincide with Rally Japan, the Toyota Automobile Museum will stage a rerun of last year’s special exhibition, titled “The WRC History of Japanese Manufacturers’ Challenges.” Through a collaboration between seven Japanese car manufacturers who have participated in the WRC, many rally cars of historical importance have been brought together for this exhibition. These vehicles, in combination with large manga background panels, generate a powerful 2.5D presentation. Visitors can sense the immediacy of the heated rally while appreciating the history of the WRC.
