The WIKO 10: An entry-level phone boasting more than capable assets

WIKO, a French brand, is slowly making a name for themselves here in the local market, and the arrival of their latest WIKO 10 smartphone is a testament to that. The WIKO 10 boasts a 6.74” Super Big Display, 50MP AI Triple Camera and 22.5W WIKO SuperCharge, to name a few.

With all of these aspects and, especially, being in the entry-level segment, the WIKO might just be one to be reckoned with.

Design:

Coming in 3 different colors– Klein Blue, Black and Silver –WIKO incorporates European design and architecture in the completion of its designs. The Klein Blue gives quite the lively and vibrant aura, while the other 2 are more reserved and subtle.

On its screen you’ll find its punch hole-type front camera, while at its right side houses both the power and volume buttons. At the back, on the other hand, is the triple camera setup at the top left corner, with the “WIKO” centered at the bottom.

At its size, the device could feel a bit bulky and heavy, but its sleekness and suave make up for it.

Display:

The WIKO 10’s 6.74” Large Display is one of its main characteristics. With a 20:9 aspect ratio, 16.7 million colors, up to 260PPI and a resolution of 720×1600, WIKO has definitely equipped its device with a capable screen.

More than having a vivid and vibrant display, its screen has a 90.60% screen-to-body ratio and minimal bezels to ensure immersive content, as well.

From watching Stranger Things on Netflix to watching music videos on YouTube, the WIKO 10’s display provided sufficient quality on videos that had various visuals. However, don’t fully expect it to provide the same caliber in such high-intensive games, though the WIKO 10 can still hold its own, nonetheless.

Especially at the entry-level segment, the WIKO 10’s display punches above its weight class.

Processor:

Being powered by a respectable Helio MediaTek G37 processor and paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the WIKO 10 is able to facilitate fairly smooth day-to-day operations. Browsing the web, scrolling through my news feed and other activities of the same ilk are tackled easily. The device can handle multitasking to an extent, as well, though when there is an overwhelming amount of apps and activities simultaneously ongoing, there is noticeable (and understandable) lag.

WIKO has Android 12 in place for users to have a more personal, effortless and safer experience. Its reimagined UI offers new ways of personalization, new privacy features, as well as a more seamless way to kickstart a game.

Camera:

Sporting a triple camera setup, the WIKO 10 possesses a 50MP High-Res Main Camera (f/1.8), 2MP Depth-of-Field Camera (f/2.4) and rounded out by a 2MP Macro Camera (f/2.4).

With many different modes to choose from, there will surely be one to suit whatever situation you find yourself in. HDR Backlight Portrait keeps snapshots clear even when against the light, Dual Bokeh Portrait slightly blurs the background to allow the subject to pop, and Rear Beauty Camera Portrait essentially does all the editing dirty work for you.

I enjoyed most taking portrait photos and shots of landscapes and the WIKO 10’s pictures were vibrant. At times, however, I found some photos to be lacking a bit in detail.

Finally, the punch-hole type, 8MP front camera is a decent one that can get the job done. While, for those who like to spice things up a bit, there are also many filters to play around with.

Charge:

WIKO has equipped its device with a large, 5000mAh battery that allows the WIKO 10 to be of service the whole day. Even on a relatively high usage rate, its battery remains resilient.

Furthermore, its 22.5W WIKO SuperCharge facilitates quicker recharging, as a mere 10 minute charge is enough to power a 2 hour video. This ultimately allows you to spend more time enjoying the phone without the worry of a dying battery and the hassles of recharging.

Verdict:

The WIKO 10 boasts a great display, respectable camera and an overall capable processor. Coming at entry-level with a very enticing price tag (P7,999 for the 4GB and P8,999 for the 6GB), the WIKO 10 makes for your stylish everyday phone, more than capable for your day-to-day activities.
