GWM has introduced the newest member of its SUV lineup, the Haval H7. Positioned below the H9, it carries the same rugged, boxy design and commanding stance as its larger sibling. However, the similarities go beyond styling. Unlike many electrified SUVs in its class, the Haval H7 has been equipped with genuine off-road prowess to match its aesthetic.

At first glance, the H7 could easily be mistaken for the H9. It shares the same upright proportions and squared-off silhouette, albeit in a slightly more compact package. The H7 measures 4,800 mm long, 1,950 mm wide, and 1,843 mm tall. Ground clearance stands at 200 mm for the HEV and PHEV 2WD variants, while the top trim PHEV 4WD has 210 mm.

The Haval H7 is offered in three variants. The entry-level HEV is priced at PHP 1,298,888, followed by the PHEV 2WD at PHP 1,548,888. At the top of the range is the PHEV 4WD, which carries a price tag of PHP 1,698,888.

All variants are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with GWM’s Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), but each offers a different level of performance. The HEV produces 247 PS and 540 Nm of torque. The PHEV 2WD raises output to 326 PS while maintaining 540 Nm, while the flagship PHEV 4WD delivers 364 PS and 760 Nm thanks to its dual-motor setup.

Battery capacity also varies between models. The HEV uses a 1.53-kWh battery, while both PHEV variants are equipped with a 19.09-kWh battery pack. This enables an all-electric driving range of up to 105 km for the PHEV 2WD and 91 km for the PHEV 4WD.

Driving modes on the HEV and PHEV 2WD include Standard, Sport, and Economy. The PHEV 4WD adds Snow, Sand, Mud, and AWD modes for improved capability in challenging conditions.

Practicality and lifestyle features are part of the package as well. The H7 comes with Type 2 and CCS2 charging ports, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, and GWM’s “Coffee Space” feature, which offers dedicated Nap, Camp, and Immersive modes.

Unlike the body-on-frame H9, the Haval H7 uses a unibody platform with a Multi-Link Rear Suspension. The PHEV 4WD further enhances its off-road ability with a Rear Locking Differential. All variants are equipped with a Full-Size Spare Tire mounted at the rear.

Despite the differences in powertrains and pricing, all three variants are generously equipped. Standard exterior features include a Black Chrome Grille, Automatic LED Headlights with Leveling function, LED Daytime Running Lights, Roof Rails, Power-Folding Side Mirrors with Integrated Turn Signals, and Rain-Sensing Wipers. The PHEV 4WD distinguishes itself with a Panoramic Sunroof and larger 19-inch alloy wheels, while the other variants ride on 18-inch wheels.

Inside, every H7 comes with a 12.3-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, a cooled Center Console compartment, Ventilated Front Seats, Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control, Rear Air Vents, a 50W Wireless Charger, a 12V Power Outlet, a 400W 220V socket, USB-A and USB-C ports, and a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The flagship PHEV 4WD adds several premium features, including a Heads-up Display, Off-Road Information Display, an 8-way Power-Adjustable Driver’s Seat with 4-way Lumbar Support, a 4-way Power-Adjustable Front Passenger Seat, Reactive Ambient Lighting, a Camping Lamp, Rear Window Privacy Shades, a 2,200W 220V power outlet, and an Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror.

Safety equipment is comprehensive across the range. Standard features include six airbags, ABS, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Cornering Brake Control, Traction Control System, Rollover Mitigation System, Hill Descent Control, Hill Hold Control, Electronic Stability Program, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, and a 540-degree camera system.

The PHEV 4WD is the only variant equipped with GWM’s full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These include Intelligent Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Information System, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Door Opening Warning, Automatic Crash Unlock, and additional driver-assistance technologies.

Customers can choose from Iceberg White, Midnight Black, and Stealth Grey. The Haval H7 is backed by a 7-year or 200,000-km vehicle warranty, a 10-year or 1,000,000-km powertrain warranty, and an 8-year battery warranty. Buyers can also take advantage of a PHP 50,000 introductory discount available until June 30, 2026.
