Starmobile’s Knight Spectra targets snap-happy users with dual rear camera

0

Starmobile’s leading the pack with its new flagship Knight Spectra smartphone. Not to be confused with the certain British superspy film that’s now out in theaters, but it does pack some pretty interesting specs that might come in handy for the modern day spy (or photo/entertainment junkie).

Top of that list is its dual rear camera setup, a first for locally branded phones. Its two camera modules work together to give you better looking images. The main 13-megapixel sensor works with the 2-megapixel sensor, which is designed to continuously gather information such as exposure, distance, and light. The dual camera setup is also said to improve fast focus times and colors of your images. The front shooter isn’t something to sneeze at either with its 8-megapixel sensor.

Starmobile makes use of the dual camera setup further with its Star Cam functions such as Super ReFocus, Chroma Flash, and Opti Zoom. Super ReFocus lets you choose the focal point of the shot after the fact, meaning you can choose to focus on the foreground or background or a particular person or object. Chroma Flash is designed to improve exposure of a shot, while Opti Zoom works to enhance the sharpness and texture of zoomed-in shots.

One more feature Starmobile is highlighting with the Knight Spectra is its capability of accessing digital TV channels. It can even record any TV shows on these channels with a press of a button.

Knight Spectra

Lookswise, the Knight Spectra is reminiscent of Apple devices mixed in with a bit of Sony with its scratch-resitant glass front and back and chamfered edges. Its power button serves as a notification light and it has a dual SIM tray where one of the slots can house your microSD card to expand the 32GB internal storage. It also comes with a 5.5-inch On-cell Full HD AMOLED display.

Internally, the Knight Spectra is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset, 3GB of RAM, and Android 5.1 Lollipop. It also has LTE capability and carries a sizable 3,500mAh battery.

How much will this set you back? It’ll cost you P14,990. A bit pricey some would say and this price range puts it in competition with some of the international brands such as ASUS, Samsung, and LG. If that camera delivers, it might be worth the price you pay for it. The units will be available at Starmobile stores and resellers starting the fourth week of November.
