First seen in 2001, the SsangYong Rexton now has four generations tucked under its belt. From setting out to introduce a premium SUV from Korea, the Rexton has gone on to create a brand image all on its own—one that not only competes with its Korean counterparts but the rest of the world as well.
Unlike the traditional pickup-based SUV, the SsangYong Rexton was designed from the ground up to be a people mover with off-road capabilities. It has a spacious cabin; in fact, it claims the widest-in-class width and wheelbase at 1,950mm and 2,855mm, respectively.
The Rexton boasts of features that put it a class above its competitors. Available in both 4×4 and 4×2 variants, the Rexton has a premium feel with ventilated and heated brown leather seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for easy device connectivity and safer driving, and a 7-inch Super Vision instrument cluster—to name a few.
Powered by a 2.2-liter diesel motor with e-VGT Variable Geometry Turbocharger with 181hp and 420Nm of torque, the SsangYong Rexton’s potent mill is complemented by 20-inch alloys for the 4×4 model and 18-inchers for the 4×2. The 4×4 model is also equipped with 6 airbags while the 4×2 gets driver and front passenger airbags.
