Spotify adds a new section for Gaming

There are two ways to mix music and gaming. First, some gamers listen to music while playing their favorite games. Secondly, some gamers listen to their favorite games’ soundtracks while going about their daily lives. Personally, I’m more of the latter category. For people like me, Spotify has just added what is arguably its most useful feature–Spotify Gaming.

Spotify Gaming is exactly what you expect it to be. Gaming is now a part of Spotify’s expansive list of genres. Spotify’s dedicated section for gamers can be divided into three amazing parts. You’ve got genre-based playlists that curate hits that go well while playing video games. Favorites for this include hard rock, hiphop, rap, and even a playlist for mellow gaming.

Secondly, Spotify Gaming features the most popular gaming personalities in media today as guests. They have their own playlists which include their favorites as well as music they used for their own content. Some of Spotify’s guests include eSports commentator Day[9], gaming website Polygon, and curated content by the Dark Souls 3 community.

Finally, what would a gaming music channel be without your favorite games’ soundtracks and scores? These include new hits like No Man’s Sky and Rocket League. The retro gamers will also find favorites like Command and Conquer and Halo.
