Samsung to mark boxes of fixed Note7 units with special sticker

Samsung has been stressing the importance of getting released Samsung Galaxy Note7s recalled as soon as possible. Immediately after the recall was announced, reminders to return purchased units have been getting more and more urgent, with the last reminder going so far as warning its users to not turn on their unrecalled phablets.

After the whole recall debacle, Samsung seems to have identified the problem as they’re prepping to release fixed units soon. They will be marking the new units with a special sticker on the box. The white barcode label at the back of the box will carry a small black square and a circular sticker with a blue S.

For those who received only the box, Samsung will be releasing an IMEI database of all fixed phones to prevent additional incidents with the battery cell failures.

If you already have the original Note7, Samsung is urging you to replace your phones with a new one or with an S7/S7 Edge. Local telcos Smart and Globe are also extending their support towards the recall by offering replacements to its subscribers.
