Smartwatches. Either you’re getting them while they’re hot or you’re wondering why they’re so relevant. Whichever side of the fence you happen to be swinging in, you might want to take a closer look at the smartwatch industry. Samsung has launched its follow-up to its first smartwatch from 2013, the Samsung Gear S. Coming this November, users will be able to take home the Samsung Gear S2.

Wearable tech have always been geared towards the athletics who needs to track vital stats, the busy individuals who want to shave off the precious seconds it takes to check their phones, or simply the ones who just think it’s way cooler to look at their wrist for messages. The Samsung Gear S2 (and its leather brother, the S2 Classic) takes all these needs into one wearable package.

The Samsung Gear S2 loses the curved, rectangular screen for the friendlier and more traditional circular interface. Both models of the Gear S2 feature a rotating bezel. This function corresponds to navigation in the Gear S2’s interface. Rotating the bezels scrolls items on the screen up or down. This provides an unobstructed view for users regardless of whether they’re left- or right-handed. This smartwatch dons a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED screen with 320ppi resolution. It runs on Samsung’s Tizen platform and a battery that lasts for 2-3 days. It has 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

The Samsung Gear S2 also promotes an athletic lifestyle with the S-Health feature made to measure vitals like heart rate, number of steps taken, and hydration levels. It is also built with IP68 resistance, ensuring relative safety from sweat, water, and other liquids. The standard Gear S2 model comes in either white or grey rubber bands. It offers the flexibility needed for an active lifestyle.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Gear S2 Classic is the more fashion-forward counterpart of the Gear S2. Out of the box, it has a black leather strap perfect for fashion expressionists. It can also be personalized with interchangeable wrist straps and downloadable wrist faces.

The Samsung Gear S2 will be available for the coming holidays at Samsung Experience Stores nationwide.. The Gear S2 will retail for P13,490, while the Gear S2 Classic will retail for P15,490.
