Realme X50 Pro 5G launched

Madrid, Spain—In a livestream today, Realme officially launched their second 5G smartphone, the X50 Pro 5G following the release of the X50 in China last month. Emilio Àlvarez, realme Spain’s country manager also announced that the brand will be releasing 5 or more 5G smartphones within the year so that’s something else to look forward to. He also noted that the brand will be concentrating on AiOT this year—specifically in smart screens, smart speakers, smart wearables, and smart earphones. In a short teaser video, it showed a very integrated ecosystem all connected by realme’s self-developed application: the realme link app.

The X50 Pro 5G will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G chipset which is the newest of its kind which realme promises will deliver the best smartphone experience from gaming to photography, with the highest Antutu benchmark score to date. The new flagship will come with 6 cameras in all—a step above the realme XT. It features two front cameras set in a punch hole to a rear quad camera setup.  The two front cameras are comprised of a 32 MP Sony IMAX 616 wide camera along with a 8 MP ultra-wide angle camera. The rear quad set-up comprises of a 64 MP main shooter + 12 MP telephoto lens + 8MP ultra-wide angle lens + B&W Portrait lens. The cameras also come with cool new features for the front camera, enabling ultra-wide selfie-videos, selfie slo-mo shots, as well as background bokeh videos.

The X50 Pro 5G has a 6.44” ultra smooth super AMOLED display with a 92% screen-to-body ratio and a 90 Hz refresh rate. Battery-wise, it packs in a 4,200 mAh dual-cell battery that can be fully charged in just 35 mins with a 65W super dart charger. It will run on the Realme UI based on Android 10. The brand also boasts of its improved power efficient AI which can power the X50 Pro in just 3 minutes enough to watch a 100-minute movie, take 4 hours of calls, and play 40 songs.  

It will come in two colors: rust red and moss green. It will retail for €599 (~P33,114) for the 8GB + 128GB variant, €669 (~P41,984) for the 8GB + 256GB variant, and €749 (~P41,406) for the 12GB + 256GB variant.
