In a significant step towards prioritizing mental health, local HMO leader PhilCare and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) formed a partnership called “Stronger Minds” to foster mental well-being among the government agency’s employees.

PhilCare President and CEO Jaeger Tanco and DILG Secretary Atty. Benjamin “Benhur” de Castro Abalos entered a collaboration for Mindscapes, the mental health service arm of PhilCare which helps companies develop customizable, tech-enabled programs that support employees in their mental wellness journey.

The partnership provides DILG constituents with valuable mental health literacy tools and screening resources, as well as psychoeducational mental health webinars.

“Our goal is simple — empower DILG employees to make informed decisions about their mental wellbeing,” Tanco said. “But from a big-picture perspective, the partnership is a significant stride in creating a healthier, happier, and more resilient society.”

The partnership will give DILG employees access to tools that help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues, to resources that facilitate early detection and intervention of mental health disorders, and to educational resources that provide valuable insights and strategies for maintaining mental well-being.

Mindscapes is able to identify and address mental issues employees are having by providing in-app consultations and counseling, virtual visits and program monitoring, as well as online educational materials and resources. Aware that having quick access to secure channels is crucial when it comes to taking care of one’s mental health, Mindscapes built a strong support system composed of experienced counselors, psychologists, and psychiatrists who are ready to listen in a safe and secure environment. Mindscapes also offers prepaid plans for individuals.
