Twitter’s Periscope joins the 360-degree livestreaming craze

Not wanting to be left behind by Facebook, Twitter’s livestreaming platform Periscope launches 360-degree livestreaming. At the moment, it’s available for “select partners.” But if you’re interested in broadcasting, you’d have to join the waitlist for now. Periscope hasn’t indicated yet if it’ll be extending the feature beyond content creators.

If you’ve watched a 360-degree livestream or video on Facebook, the experience isn’t that much different here. If you’re on desktop, you just click and drag. Meanwhile, on mobile you just pan the mobile phone or tap and swipe. The ability to watch these 360-degree videos are rolling out to users now. You’ll see a “Live 360” badge show up if an account is livestreaming something. You can see a sample #Periscope360 video in the tweet below.
