Oris repurposes waste into art with the Aquis Date Upcycle

Every watch in Oris’ new Aquis Date collection is one-of-a-kind and unique, whether it is the 41.5 mm or 36.5 mm size you decide upon. This is due to the PET plastic recycling process which reproduces vibrantly random patterns, ensuring that no two Oris dials are exactly alike. To make things even sweeter, Oris is not making this edition of the Aquis Date limited, as they promise to “keep making them for as long as there’s demand”. Through this initiative, Oris is committing itself to their ethos of sustainability, proclaiming that “our hope is that our customers will choose Aquis Date Upcycle and join us in making a daily commitment to reducing the world’s ocean plastic crisis.”

From a structural perspective, this batch of Oris Aquis Date PET watches share an architectural design with the popular and classic Aquis Date models. In terms of build materials and quality, both feature a stainless steel case and uni-directional rotating diver’s bezel with a scratch-resistant grey ceramic insert. In addition, they both also have a stainless steel bracelet with clasp extension system, crown protectors, a screw-down crown and a Swiss-Made automatic winding movement.

In terms of environmental responsibility and product longevity, Oris wants to make sure their timepieces are not only durable but insured. That is why Oris is adding an additional year to their typical 2-year warranty. Simply join and register your watch at MyOris after purchase and increase your warranty to 3 years for free.
