It looks like Nokia’s hardware manufacturing days are far from over. After tweeting an cryptic teaser the other day, Nokia unveiled its latest creation, the Android-powered N1 tablet.
With their smartphone division sold off to Microsoft, Nokia is looking to start over in the hardware space. And this time it looks like they finally have a worthy contender in the Android arena.
Manufactured by Foxconn (one of Apple’s manufacturing partners), the 7.9-inch N1 does seem like the iPad mini’s long-lost brother. The 2048 x 1536 (4:3) resolution display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 with zero-gap laminated display. It is powered by an 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 2.3 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB internal storage, and ships with Android Lollipop and Nokia’s own Z launcher.
It’ll be up for sale by early 2015 for US$250 (approximately P11,200+). We’re hoping the N1 makes its way here. We’d love to get our hands on this.
