Industry leaders, media, and government officials are gathering in Singapore to discuss the future of mobility in the fast-growing Asia and Oceania region during Nissan Futures, starting today, February 5.

The fourth edition of Nissan Futures will focus on expanding markets in Asia and Oceania under the theme “The future of mobility—electrification and beyond.” Conversations will center on how new mobility solutions can help tackle challenges such as pollution, urbanization, and congestion.

Nissan is well-positioned to help enhance mobility in the region by introducing more electrification, more autonomy, and more connectivity through Nissan Intelligent Mobility—the company’s vision for changing how cars are powered, driven, and integrated into society.

Nissan is committed to delivering smarter, safer, sustainable mobility solutions for the future,” said Nissan Regional Senior Vice President Yutaka Sanada. “But we can’t drive the future of mobility alone. Exchanging insights between public and private stakeholders—like we do at Nissan Futures—helps create a common understanding of the path ahead and fosters collaboration.”

During Nissan Futures, Frost & Sullivan will reveal the findings of a Nissan-commissioned study on the future of electric vehicles in Southeast Asia. The study’s consumer research in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines sheds light on demand for electric vehicles, motivating factors for buyers, and barriers to adoption.

Nissan claims it’s the world leader in electric vehicles, having sold more than 300,000 Nissan LEAFs since the 100 percent electric car debuted in 2010. The second generation of the LEAF went on sale in Japan in October 2017.

The new Nissan LEAF, which features the company’s advancements in the areas of Intelligent Power, Intelligent Driving, and Intelligent Integration, will be on display at Nissan Futures. EPORO robots and the Nissan Note e-POWER, featuring the e-POWER electrified powertrain, will also be shown. A Vehicle-to-Home display will show how Nissan LEAF owners can supply their homes with power from the car’s battery.

Nissan Futures participants will have the opportunity to test drive the new Nissan LEAF at the recently opened Centre of Excellence for Testing and Research of Autonomous Vehicles (CETRAN) at Nanyang Technological University.

Nissan Futures is taking place from Feb. 5 to 7 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Center in Singapore
