MyPhone announces new partnerships, new software

The best thing about smartphone press conferences are the new phones that are inevitably launched. MyPhone, however, is stepping up its game as they release more products that go beyond their usual dynamic of releasing just new phones. Their launch, tagged as ‘Transcendence: Rising beyond limits’ saw how the company’s units are set to become relevant platforms for information, multimedia, and advertising. MyPhone sees content creation and distribution as the next step for the company.

Heartware

MyPhone introduces four new apps that will be embedded in its upcoming devices. They believe that these apps are essential for everyday use.

The MyCrazySale app displays discounted products and sales near your area. Get a list of bargains ranging from food, home essentials, branded clothes, and even airline tickets.

The MyTrabaho app is an electronic classified ads board that shows available jobs to seekers. The app updates daily with both part-time and full-time arrangements.

The MyRarities app is a C2C business model application that lets users buy and sell items with each other.

Finally, MyPhone announces that their new units will come with ABS-CBN’s NoInk e-reader. NoInk is a digital reading platform that offers up-to-date multimedia articles about pop culture, fashion, food, lifestyle, technology, and motoring. The app also allows users to purchase best-selling local books and magazines.

AGILA

Headlining MyPhone’s newest slew of apps is AGILA, the first ever lock screen advertising application that allows brands and businesses to setup ads on MyPhone units. The app will also reward its users with prizes for being loyal patrons of these businesses.

This new digital platform will change the way how businesses can interact with their consumers. The AGILA offers lock screen advertising, where an advertisement will appear every time the user opens his/her phone, and branded and offline games. Users can win prizes from their favorite brands when they view ads or play the games that come with the ads.

There will be three different raffles: daily, weekly, and the grand raffle where users can win watches, MyPhone units, and up to 2 million pesos in cash. To join, just simply download the AGILA app to your phone, register via Facebook, and start interacting with the ads that appear on your phone’s lock screen. Swiping an ad to the right will skip the ad and give the user 1 raffle entry. Swiping the ad to the left will let the user view the details of the ad, play a game, and view news and alerts, which gives the user 5 raffle entries. If users share an advertisement on their social media accounts, they will earn 20 raffle entries. The more entries you have, the more chances of winning.

Collaboration

‘Transcendence’ also saw MyPhone announce the multitude of partnerships they have in store for both hardware and software. These include top brands like Mediatek, Spreadtrum, Socionext, FCI, RaonTech, Super D, Samsung, and Sony.

Headlining these partnerships is Google, which comes appropriately after the success of MyPhone UNO, the company’s first Android One device. Thus, MyPhone will release an all Google Certified lineup.

Finally, to cap off 2016, MyPhone will be releasing 16 new affordable Android models priced below P5,000.
