After Samsung struggled with sales of the Galaxy S5, Samsung is looking to make a comeback with its new flagships. What’s new this time around?

Samsung is stepping away from plastics for these flagship devices and are made with aluminum metal and has a Gorilla Glass 4 front and back. It has a more jewel-like sheen to them (and a bit of a fingerprint magnet) that adds a high-class look to the devices. The new phones will be available in colors like White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Blue Topaz, and Green Emerald.

The Galaxy S6 Edge curves off to both sides but it isn’t as deep as the one you get from the Note Edge, which means you don’t get the quick launch icon system.

Sensor is now touch-based instead of having to swipe at the sensor to unlock the device. The company also shows off the streamlined user interface that looks more in line with Android Lollipop’s Material Design look.

The new flagships get new 16-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras. It promises better low light shooting and new features like real-time HDR and object tracking auto focus.

Samsung builds in wireless charging and has a new fast-charging feature that gives you four hours of use with just 10 minutes of charging. You can get your battery up to 50 percent by charging for around 30 minutes.

Both devices are lighter than the S5 but this means they had to sacrifice a few features. It doesn’t have water resistance, expandable memory, or removable battery.

The great news though is the Galaxy S6 gets dual SIM capability. The 32 GB and 64 GB models will available locally. No word yet for the 128 GB version. The official launch in the Philippines will be happening mid-April.

Here’s a rundown of the official specs:
