MilestonePod wants to help you run better

Whether you’ve just started training for your first 5k or breaking your plateau on your nth triathlon, MilestonePod will surely find its way onto your shoe. Milestone Sports Philippines officially launched the MilestonePod in the country. The MilestonePod is an accessory that clips to your shoe and tracks your performance.

Compared to smartwatches or other trackers which only tracks your heart rate, pace, and duration, the MilestonePod is all about “going beyond pace.” It can track 12 different metrics to help you run smarter and avoid unnecessary injuries, it can even tell you when to replace your running shoes. The pod can track your: pace, distance, duration, which part of your foot strikes during take-off/launching/landing, rate of impact, leg swing, ground contact, cadence, stride length and Runficiency Score, and an odometer.

“These little bits of information are what will bring every runner’s game up a notch,” said Hitler Dulay of Milestone Sports Philippines at the Pod Powered event held at Maximus Athlete’s Shop Café late last month.

The MilestonePod is highly acclaimed amongst athletes. Fitness coach and triathlete Don Velasco noted that he uses the MilestonePod for his new trainees to gauge their current skill level and find the areas where they need the most improvement. Two-time SEA Games Gold medalist Ed Buenavista showcased how the MilestonePod helps him during training and demonstrated how the pod collects info on his runs.

The accompanying Android/iOS app features a lot of neat stuff as it presents to you the data the pod collected in an organized manner. Although the real-time sync is still in development and might come in the form of an update two months from now, the process of just syncing your data after your run to your smartphone is as easy as taking a selfie. You can also export your run data to an excel sheet to monitor your progress and track how you run. The MilestonePod is equipped with a battery watch, so you’ll only need to replace it in six to eight months. Don’t worry if you already have an app of your choice for your running needs, the MilestonePod syncs amazingly with third-party apps such as Zwift and Strava and can be paired also with different platforms from Polar, Suunto, and Garmin.

Priced at P1,695, the MilestonePod is designed to be an affordable companion to people who are just beginning and want to better their form or help a seasoned athlete break through from a plateau.

The MilestonePod is available at Maximum Athlete’s Shop Café, Flying Don V Coaching, Multisport Hub, and SwimBikeRun.PH.
