LG launches new V10 smartphone Luigi Leonardo November 27, 2015 News Less than a year removed from the release of their flagship this year, LG Electronics returns with the launch of new V Series starting with the V10. Earlier this year, LG outed its feature-packed G4. From the leather back case and gently curved display, to the first smartphone to sport a 16-megapixel rear shooter with the lowest aperture level of f/1.8, the fourth iteration of LG’s premium G Series is also the first smartphone to have a Manual Camera Mode. The new V Series takes the lauded premium G Series and adds another serving of new features with first such as the dedicated Second Screen for accessibility as well as the Dual Front Cameras for enhanced selfie experience. The LG V10 will also be the first smartphone to have a Multi-View window feature which allows using all three cameras simultaneously laid out up to four windows. But the most impressive upgrade on the V10 is a unique first for the industry: carrying over the camera’s Manual Mode function to video for an immersive multimedia experience. With the new Manual Video Mode, users can adjust shutter speed, frame rate, ISO, white balance and focus as they record. Unparalleled Multi-Media User Experience The LG V10 sports the iconic 16-megapixel rear shooter with f/1.8 aperture lens and OIS 2.0 found in the stellar LG G4. The difference lies with the V10’s 5-megapixel Dual Front Camera, which allows users to take selfies with wide angles of up to 120 degrees. Being the first smartphone to feature a manual video mode, the V10 makes it easy to create professional-quality videos by adjusting options such as shutter speed, aperture, and focus while recording. There are also three resolution options for video recording–HD, Full HD, or Ultra HD–as well as two aspect ratios–16:9 standard or 21:9 cinematic. The Manual Video Mode also has additional functions such as an electronic image stabilization to minimize shaky cams, a Snap Video Mode which enables users to combine short videos, a Quick Video Editor, Quick Share, Audio Monitoring, and a Wind Noise Filter. The LG V10 also carries the tradition of additional storage with its microSD slot under the removable back cover. This slot is compatible of up to 2TB of additional storage, to complement its 64GB internal storage. (Although, LG is quick to mention that despite this whopping 2TB compatibility, there are no 2TB microSD cards out in the market yet.) It is also equipped with a removable 3,000mAh battery. Designed for Durability Inside and Out The LG V10 sports a resilient Dura Guard frame that firmly secures the display from accidental drops. The frame is composed of SAE grade 316L stainless steel, the same tough, hypoallergenic material used to make surgical tools and high-end watches. The back has a tough but soft Dura Skin silicone back cover for added protection from direct impacts to the device. Inside the V10’s engineered exterior, users will feel the power of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 Processor with 4GB of RAM. It comes out of the box with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Its display is once again headlined by LG’s 5.7 QHD IPS Quantum Display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 and 513ppi. It is available in Space Black. The LG V10 has begun to roll out in Korea, United States, and key countries in Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. As the Philippines welcomes the LG V10 to the local market for a retail price of P37,990, LG Mobile will be giving away a free 200GB memory card valued at P11,000 starting from November 27 to November 29 in participating LG concept stores in the Philippines.
