LG has just introduced the new more affordable brethren of their flagship G3 and the latest iteration of its Android Wear-powered smartwatch. We welcome the G3 Stylus, G3 Beat, and G Watch R.
As its name suggests, the G3 Stylus is the 5.5-inch model that comes with a Rubberdium stylus pen to make it easier to write notes and doodle on the device. And it works with other third-party handwriting and drawing apps. The G3 Beat, meanwhile, is the smaller brother of the two G3s with a 5-inch HD display. Both devices bring the G3’s looks into more affordable packages.
The G3 Stylus and G3 Beat are priced at P16,990 and P13,990, which is a far cry from the P30,000+ price of the flagship device. The lower price means the internals get a bit of a hit though.
The G3 Stylus sports the same screen size as the G3 but only has a quarter HD display (960 x 540 resolution), 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of internal storage. The G3 Stylus doesn’t retain the laser autofocus system of the G3’s camera but it has a 13-megapixel rear camera as well.
In a smaller package, the G3 Beat keeps the laser autofocus system but is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera. It has an HD display, 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of internal storage as well.

Now, if you fancy getting a new smartwatch, the G Watch R is more up your alley. It is the first round smartwatch to make its way to our shores. This device bears most of the specs of the usual Android Wear smartwatches but looks like it would appeal to those who find the previous smartwatches a bit too “nerdy.” It has a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.3-inch P-OLED display (320 x 320), 4 GB internal storage, 512 MB RAM, 410 mAh battery, and is dust- and water-resistant (IP 67). It is going to cost you a bit though as it is priced at P13,990 as well (same as the G3 Beat).
