Slim and sleek with great performance
Hidden in this sleek gaming laptop body is a very strong powerhouse capable of running games with ease and keeping up with your everyday multitasking. Being able to support and supplement your workload productivity, creative outputs, and your favorite pastime, the Lenovo Legion 7 16IAX10 may just be the one for your daily needs.
Body and design
The Lenovo Legion 7 16IAX10 is housed in a nice white body, giving it a light and clean aesthetic. The white color gives off a very premium finish, and may show fewer fingerprints than on a darker body. However, one should be careful as dust and dirt could be more easily seen on this device. Its dimensions are 36.1 × 26.0 × 2.1 cm and it weighs around 2.5-2.7kg, light enough to carry with ease.

While clean and simple on the outside, opening the laptop shows you more of its character. Once powered on, you’re immediately met with the colorful RGB backlight keyboard and impressive 16-inch non-touch OLED display. This allows the Lenovo Legion 7 16IAX10 to give you great image quality with true blacks, high contrast, as well as faster response times. Its WQXGA (Wide Quad Extended Graphics Array) 2560 x 1600 resolution and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut gives you 25% more colors than sRGB, making this ideal not only for gaming with vibrant colors, but also professional video and photo editing, including HDR content. This gives you assurance on high-quality, professional-grade color accuracy for your creative projects.

This display reaches up to 165Hz, adding to your gaming experience with its high refresh rates. This gives you better motion clarity for FPS (First-person shooter) games and a very responsive experience on top of its OLED display capabilities. It reaches 1100 HDR peak nits of brightness and features DisplayHDR True Black 1000, Dolby Vision, NVIDIA G-SYNC, Advanced Optimus support, TÜV Low Blue Light, TÜV High Gaming Performance, and TÜV Rheinland Flicker Free additions.

The Lenovo Legion 7 16IAX10 has a 6-row keyboard with per-key RGB backlight. The key travel is 1.6mm which allows for a good typing experience, giving you that speed when typing while keeping the sleek aspect of the whole laptop. It also includes the multimedia Fn keys and numeric keypad.
At the bottom of the laptop is the touchpad, although it is skewed to the left. It may give off an imbalanced look as it is not in the center of the laptop, and may be slightly weird for some as it is not centered to the screen. This results in your hand staying a bit more to the left, especially if you are right-handed. However, this placement makes it center to the letters of the keyboard and the spacebar so this is also something that you could get used to, as the numpad takes its place on the right area of the keyboard. It all comes down to personal preference if this aesthetic imbalance is something that you think would bother you, or negligibly so.
Specs and performance
The reviewed laptop uses the Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX processor, which contains 20 Cores, 20 Threads, and uses Intel Graphics. This CPU makes multitasking a breeze and allows games to run smoothly even at high settings. There is another version that has the Core Ultra 9 275HX, which contains 24 Cores and Threads respectively if you would prefer the faster speed.
This is also an AI-Powered Gaming PC, which features Lenovo AI Engine+ and NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs. This allows it to handle AI-driven tasks and helps deliver an even more remarkable gaming performance. This laptop operates on Windows 11, Microsoft’s latest operating system.
The Lenovo Legion 7 16IAX10 gives off exceptional graphics as it uses the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU graphics card containing 8GB GDDR7 VRAM. This laptop also has 32GB DDR5 RAM, allowing you to maximize the use of the laptop without worrying too much about bottlenecks and giving you enough future-proofing.

These specs allow this laptop to stay responsive even under heavy workloads, making it great for both gaming and productivity. For everyday users, it allows multitasking without lag, especially if you’re the type to have multiple tabs or programs open at the same time. For content creation, the OLED display gives you high-resolution, professional-grade color accuracy often used in digital cinema, while the 32GB RAM can allow you to edit videos and create high resolution graphics. For gaming enthusiasts, the colors, refresh rate, and strong CPU and GPU can give you that immersive and responsive gaming experience without having to worry too much about frame drops for competitive gameplay, nor stutters on AAA games. This laptop also supports DLSS 4, a feature that could boost frame rates and overall performance. All in all, the Lenovo Legion 7 16IAX10’s sleek body doesn’t sacrifice on performance.
Regarding storage, this laptop came with a 1TB SSD installed, which was more than capable for downloading multiple titles with still a lot of space to spare. This device also supports a max storage of up to two drives of M.2 SSD with M.2 2242 SSD up to 1TB and M.2 2280 SSD up to 2TB respectively. There are also two M.2 storage slots: one M.2 2280 PCIe 5.0 x4 slot and one M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot. It is important to note that the data transfer rate of the PCIe interface would also depend on the capabilities of the connected PCIe.
Battery
The laptop comes with an 84Wh Rechargeable Li-ion battery which supports Rapid Charge Pro. This claims that you can get the laptop to charge up to 50% in just 30 minutes. The battery life claims to max at 3.98 hours after a single charge, which may or may not be the ideal for certain users. Additionally, these were done with the MobileMark tests and continuous 1080p video playback, which means that this could vary depending on your laptop usage. While the battery life is very usable when browsing or when not doing heavy workloads, it is still better to keep the laptop plugged on for optimal performance when playing games. With its fast charging speeds giving you roughly 4 hours of usage, working remotely is very doable with the Legion 7 16IAX10.
The power adapter that comes with the laptop is a 245W slim tip AC adapter, usable with 100-240 and 50-60Hz, giving you access to the fast charging capabilities when connecting it to the charging port found behind the device.
Gaming tests
I tested a few different games and noted their corresponding result on the frames per second (fps), temperature and RAM usage. These tests were all done after the NVIDIA drivers (software already pre-built into the laptop) were installed and running to have the most optimized gaming experience, and the laptop was kept plugged in to lessen hits on performance by not only running on battery power, as well as to keep a uniform test all throughout.
For first-person shooter games (FPS), VALORANT and Overwatch 2 were tested. These games were both tested with their highest in-game graphic settings implemented. VALORANT had a peak of 401fps and averaged around 170fps on Team Deathmatch and Deathmatch matches. The GPUs temperature did not go above 80°C, whereas the CPU did not go above 100°C. The RAM usage stayed at around 18.9GB. For Overwatch 2, the average fps was 80, with 176fps being the highest. RAM usage stayed at around 24GB and the temperature stayed at 80°C for the GPU and around 85°C for the CPU. There were no stutters or lags experienced during the gameplay for both games, which is great with the settings put at its max.
Marvel Rivals, another PVP shooter game which is known to not run as easily on certain devices, was also tested. On competitive settings, it kept around a stable 140fps, 120fps on average, and 400 max fps. Both the CPU and GPU temperature stayed below 90°C, while the RAM usage stayed at around 25GB. This also resulted in no lags or frame drops.
The Lenovo Legion 7 16IAX10 was also tested with Hogwarts Legacy — a very GPU and CPU intensive Triple A title. It was found that this already very demanding AAA game runs well even at the highest settings, resulting in a peak of 124fps and 30fps on average. RAM usage was at 24.9GB and both the CPU and GPU temperature stayed below 80°C. Granted, you may lower the settings if you would prefer higher frame rates, but it is good to know that this laptop can handle even the highest settings smoothly without freezing or latency.
It is important to note that gaming is best done when this laptop is plugged to a power source in order to maximize its performance. However, you may get away with it unconnected for lighter titles and shorter playtimes.
Productivity and creativity

This laptop’s performance isn’t only useful for gaming. It is capable of handling multi-tasking and can be a good companion to your editing workflow and other creative needs. With its high RAM, one should be able to work on photo editing, graphics, and video-editing without running into much problems. Additionally, its OLED display gives you accurate colors that makes post-processing your photos or color-grading your videos as true to the colors as possible. This would further enhance the workflow for those creatives, especially when you need a workhorse that could be a functional and practical tool that you will benefit from when you’re on the go. With the display and RAM capabilities, this laptop would be a good supplement to your daily browsing, work productivity, and creative outputs.
Ports and connectivity
The laptop also has its fair share of ports, giving you more accessibility by allowing you to connect data, power and peripherals without having to get an external USB hub. On the left side of the laptop (screen opened facing you), you will find a Thunderbolt 4 port which is a high-speed connectivity standard that gives consistent 40Gbps bandwidth, allowing you high resolution dual display support, fast data transfer speeds, and up to 100W charging for your added convenience. It also has a USB-C that reaches 10Gbps speeds containing USB PD 95-100W and DP 2.1 port for data transfer and power delivery for charging, a USB-A (5Gbps) Always On port, and a headphone/microphone combo jack (3.5mm) for your audio. Another USB-A (5Gbps) Always On port is found on the right side of the laptop, as well as a dedicated card reader, allowing you to transfer files from SD cards more seamlessly and speedily, which is a feature that many photographers, video editors, and content creators would appreciate. The back of the laptop houses the HDMI port and power connector, allowing you to keep the charging cable hidden and out of the way.

With all the possible connectivities, this laptop supports up to four independent displays: 3 external monitors including the native display. This can be done using the HDMI and USB-C ports. The HDMI port supports up to 8K@60Hz, while using the USB-C port could give you up to 4K@60Hz. It is important to note that in order to get the max resolution, a DSC-enabled display is required for 8K resolution monitor support.

For built-in multi-media features, the laptop also has a 5.0MP+IR fixed focus webcam with an E-shutter privacy switch, as well as 2 stereo speakers with audio by HARMAN and optimized with Nahimic Audio. It also contains a dual-microphone array microphone and a High Definition (HD) Audio with a Realtek ALC3306 codec.
For network connectivity, this laptop supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. However, there is no onboard Ethernet, so you would need to get an external hub if you would prefer the direct internet connection, especially when you need the speed, lower latency, and better internet stability.
Verdict

All in all, the Lenovo Legion 7 16IAX10 provides a good balance of form, function and play. This laptop allows you to work, create, and play games, even while on the go, all packed in a clean and sleek profile. Capable of being your workhorse and detresser, this may be the next complement to both your productivity and moments when you would like to unwind.
