IFA Roundup: LG’s OLED TVs

0

LG unveiled their latest model OLED TVs this week during the IFA conference in Berlin, Germany.

These are the 55- and 65-inch 4K OLED TVs (65/55EF9500 and 55EG9200) and a curved OLED TV (55EG9100). LG boasts that the EF9500 OLED TVs are the first flat 4K OLED TVs. The 55EG9200 and the curved 55EG9100 boast a slim 4.8mm. All models feature webOS 2.0 that lets you navigate these LG smart TVs easier and more intuitive as well as speakers that are developed in partnership with Harman/Kardon to complement your 4K experience with exceptional sound.

The advantage of OLED TVs over traditional LCD models is that the each pixel is self-illuminated. This removes the need for a light source behind the pixel which reduces parts as well as making the TVs as slim as possible. Another advantage is deeper blacks since the OLED pixel can be turned off.

LG will start selling their new line of 4K OLED TVs this month in Germany, Korea, The US, and the UK. Expect LG to sell these TVs on select markets after.
