Huawei officially outs what has been dubbed the “King of Android”—the Nexus 6P. The first premium Nexus device makes its way to our shores and yes, it is a beauty.

Made with what Huawei says is “aeronautical-grade” anodized aluminum with diamond chamfered edges, it feels good and solid when you hold it. It’s the first all-metal Nexus, which emphasizes the premium tag on the device.

We’ve gotten used to midrange Nexus devices so getting to play around with a flagship Nexus is rather enjoyable. With an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor, 3GB of RAM, and Adreno 430 graphics, the Nexus 6P is a speedy device. We can’t wait to put it to the test.

It has a 5.7-inch WQHD AMOLED display and packs in a sizable 3,450mAh battery. It also has 64GB internal storage but without any microSD expansion capabilities.

As a next-generation device, it has USB Type-C port already, which promises quick-charging capabilities (10 minutes for a seven-hour battery life); fingerprint sensor, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. You get the best of Android with this device.

If you’re wondering about the camera, it doesn’t one-up the competition who have almost DSLR-grade sensors on their phones but it is respectable on its own. It has a 12.3-megapixel rear shooter with 1.55um pixesl for capturing more light in darker settings. It also has an 8-megapixel front shooter. The rear cam can record 4K and high-frame-rate, slow-motion videos, while the front camera comes with HDR+ technology.

As mentioned in the title, the Huawei Nexus 6P is priced at P29,990 and is available in stores and online already. The units available locally are Graphite and Gold models.
