Herbelin has been around as a watchmaking house since 1947, and have recently unveiled their Newport Diver Automatic. This timepiece has a 316L stainless steel case (42mm in diameter) and features a 70's-era cushion shape, making the watch size wider than a standard diving watch's bezel. The Newport Diver has a polished blue ceramic bezel which features minimalist numeration and minute/hour markers. The case itself is protected by a curved double-sided sapphire crystal. The the deep navy dial features graduations of blue from a lighter matte center from the inside which darkens toward the edges.
Technically, the Newport Diver Automatic contains a Swiss Made Sellita 11 ½ SW220-1 movement. It also has a screw-down crown and 300 meters of water resistance. The timepiece is held together by a matching navy high-performance FKM elastic strap. Unlike other dive watches which are a diver in aesthetics only, the Newport Diver is equipped with a double-folding clasp with safety buckle, which was made to fit over diving suits.
