GrabTaxi’s private hire vehicle booking service, GrabCar, is celebrating its first year in the country. And with that, they’re offering a limited run deal that gives P100 off all GrabCar and GrabCar+ rides on every booking starting today until July 21. The promo code you need to use is LEGALLYGRAB.
The promo code is related to the service recently being accredited as a Transportation Network Company by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). The Department of Transportation and Communications announced back in May that they would create a new classification to accommodate these app-based booking services. On July 3rd, GrabCar was able to complete its requirements and receive full accreditation as a TNC. According to the company, they are the first to do so in the country.
If you want to try out GrabCar yourself and haven’t before, here’s a quick guide on how to do it:
- Open your GrabTaxi app and select the GrabCar or GrabCar+ options.
- Input where you are going and tap on Next.
- Add additional instructions about your location in the next screen and even give a tip if you’re having difficulty getting a ride. And for the limited run, make sure to add the LEGALLYGRAB promo code in the appropriate box.
- Once you are assigned a driver, you’ll see the driver’s name and photo as well as the plate number of the car. It will also display the ETA of your vehicle.
- If you need to, you can also call the driver to track his/her progress.
- You can also share your ride via SMS, email, or through social networks so your family and friends can track where you are.
