In case you didn’t know, Globe, together with the Department of Tourism’s Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), offered Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and tourists in the country free SIM cards to help keep them connected while they’re in the country last year.
The TPB and Globe renew this collaboration as the TPB launches its Visit the Philippines Again 2016 campaign. The board, together with Globe, hope to encourage visitors to see more of what the country has offer, even if they’ve been here before.
TPB Chief Operating Officer Domingo Ramon Enerio III said that they were able to cross the five million foreign-visitor threshold in 2015 (5.36 million in 2015 vs. 4.8 million in 2014), which is a first for the country.
As a way to support TPB’s programs, the Globe Traveler SIM will still be available for free for the rest of the year. OFWs and tourists who wish to avail of the free SIM just need to head over to Globe booths at NAIA and international airports in Cebu, Davao, Kalibo, Iloilo, and Clark. They need to show their passport or OFW E-Card. You can also reserve the SIM online but the link we got doesn’t seem to be working yet at the moment.
