Game of Thrones will return next summer, only 7 episodes

Winter isn’t coming anymore. That’s because it’s here already.

After six seasons of a consistent April release date, Game of Thrones will premiere its seventh season on a different schedule–in the summer of 2017. This piece of news comes after we’ve reported that the next season will be delayed by a few months. This delay is because of a new production schedule that aims to showcase more winter scenes. As such, principal photography will start later in the year, rather than immediately after the preceding season.

Also, the seventh season will feature only seven episodes, rather than the series’ usual ten episode lineup.
