GAC launches GS3 subcompact crossover

Chinese automaker GAC, through its exclusive Philippine distributor, Legado Motors Inc., unveiled yesterday its compact crossover contender, the GS3. 

The GS3 is a subcompact crossover that has been well-received in many countries and markets across the globe since its launch in China last November 2018. GAC touts the GS3 as a game-changer in the SUV market with its design, specifications, and features that surpass expectations in its class. 

Sporting contemporary exterior styling, the GS3 combines classic chrome elements with a sporty design, while the interior is enhanced by the premium leather-and-fabric lining of its seats, door panels, and dashboard. Digital conveniences include a state-of-the-art infotainment system that integrates an 8-inch TFT color display with Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity. 

The GS3 is available in two variants, both gasoline-powered with six-speed automatic transmission and compliant with Euro 5 emissions standards. The 150N variant has a 1.5-liter, DCVVT engine that produces 113hp and 150Nm, while the 200T variant has a 1.3-liter turbocharged DCVVT engine rated to make 136hp and 202Nm. 

The GS3 boasts of a five-star safety rating through features like Electronic Stability Control, Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Traction Control System (TCS), Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), Hill-start Hold Control (HHC), Hill Descent Control (HDC) and electronic parking brake with auto-hold.

The GS3 embodies GAC’s thrust to a high value for money proposition, with its smart features and world-class design in a competitively priced package. The GS3’s entry-level 150N variant costs P888,000 while the premium 200T variant sells for P1,058,000. 

GAC Motor dealerships in the Philippines are located at Metrowalk, Pasig City; San Fernando, Pampanga; and Tarlac City, Tarlac. More dealerships are soon to open in Alabang, Muntinlupa City; Imus, Cavite; and Mandaue City, Cebu.
