First impressions: realme 11

We’re set to meet the stylish addition to the realme 11 series. Following the successful launch of the Pro and Pro+ models, the tech brand is launching its base model: realme 11. Find out what we’ll get from this more affordable package.

Design and build

It appears that the realme 11 has followed the footsteps of the more expensive variants, because it’s no slouch when it comes to design. It’s just as head-turning as it literally dazzles with its glossy and glittery finish in Glory Gold colorway. Of course there will always be the clean and sleek option for minimalist folks: Glory Black.

Apart from being eye candy, the smartphone is also delightful to hold. The lightweight body and boxy frame make it increasingly comfortable to grip.

Display

Up front, we get a cheerful greeting from the 6.43-inch AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. The bezels on top and the sides are adequately slim; however, the chin is noticeably thicker. Nonetheless, I fancy the vibrant colors exhibited by the front panel. I can look forward to on-the-go binge-watch sessions.

Camera

I’m sure that everyone, to some degree, is a memory hoarder; thus, making a smartphone with capable cameras a powerful arsenal. Thankfully, on paper, the realme 11 seems to be equipped with the bunch. A dual rear camera layout featuring the 108MP main and 2MP portrait cameras comes with the device.

For those who love taking closeup shots, you can take advantage of the 3x In-Sensor Zoom. We can also expect low-light shots to be uncompromised. There are also new filters to choose from: Tranquil, Crisp, and Cinematic.

On the flipside, we have the 16MP front camera for all the selfie enthusiasts.

Performance

Powering the device is the MediaTek Helio G99 processor. It’s also paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. My initial interactions with the device were a breeze — from booting it up and downloading mobile apps to having multiple windows up and multitasking. I’d like to put it to the test when it comes to heavier loads like gaming, though. I have high hopes that it can extend the same smooth experience for casual gamers.

Charging and battery

Isn’t it highly favorable when our devices could keep up to our fast-paced lifestyle? No wonder the 67W SUPERVOOC charge and 5000mAh battery of the realme 11 have so much appeal. The brand claims that even with the large battery, the fast-charging capabilities can fully juice up the device in 45 minutes.

Initial thoughts

Yes, the realme 11 will be much easier on the pocket, but if the price is right, you still might get more than your money’s worth. We’ll find out in our full review if it lives up to every expectation.
