First Impressions of HONOR's Recent Addition to its X Series: The X6a

In the already formidable HONOR X Series, a recent addition has been announced that would bolster the line up even further. With the introduction of the X6a, HONOR now offers users a device with a budget-friendly price, yet still being decked out with competitive specs, nonetheless.

Camera

So, what exactly sets the X6a apart from other products within the same price range? HONOR has equipped this new device with a powerful 50MP Main Camera, a feat rarely seen in smartphones of the same ilk, to facilitate capturing moments in vivid detail, whether day or night.

Partnered with the impressive 50MP (f/1.8) Main Camera are a 2MP (f/2.4) Depth Camera, 2MP (f/2.4) Macro Camera, and rounded out with a 5MP (f/2.2) Front Camera.

Design

Not only is the X6a’s camera what gives it its dazzle, but also its design, and quite literally too; inspired by the starlit sky, the device’s rear resembles dazzling gemstones that twinkle in the night sky. Coming in renditions of Sky Silver and Midnight Black, the X6a’s eye-catching appearance makes the smartphone all the more appealing to those with vibrant characteristics and colorful personalities.

Display

HONOR has also put emphasis on the X6a’s display, as it is graced with a large 6.95-inch LFT LCD screen. I noticed there to be minimal bezels as well, consequently maximizing the screen’s entirety. A 720 x 1612 resolution paves the way for better clarity, while its 90Hz refresh rate allows for a smoother and more responsive experience.

Further putting importance on the overall display, HONOR keeps in mind possible lengthy and prolonged usages of the X6a (or any device for that matter) and its negative effects, especially in today’s digital age. With the inclusion of Dynamic Dimming Technology, the device stimulates the dynamic changes in natural light, ultimately relieving eye fatigue, as well as promoting eye blood circulation.

Processor

In terms of its processor, the X6a is powered by a 12nm MediaTek Helio G36 chipset. This has the capabilities to be an able partner when it comes to various different activities; whether gaming, multitasking or streaming videos, to name a few, you can fully expect the X6a to provide enough power to accomplish such tasks enjoyably.

Battery

Another aspect that should make the X6a all the more impressive is its very large battery, with a total capacity of 5200mAh. This is equivalent to a total of 17.8 hours of video playback, or 35 hours of audio calls. Paired with the respectable battery is a relatively quick 22.5W HONOR SuperCharge, which can impressively charge 31% in only a 20 minute period.

Evidently, HONOR’s addition of the X6a into its X Series gives consumers a very capable smartphone equipped with competitive specs, all while still being tagged as a budget-friendly device.
