Facebook wants to help small businesses in Metro Manila

Facebook just rolled out their small business grant program to help small businesses survive during this challenging time. They’re offering a total of $100m in grants to around 30,000 small businesses in 30 countries including the Philippines.

Your business must meet the following to be eligible: 

  • between 2 – 50 employees
  • in business for over a year
  • have experienced challenges due to COVID-19
  • be in or near a location where Facebook operates

For the Philippines, Facebook’s office is in Metro Manila and application is between today October 6 up to October 12, 2020. They’re ready to shell out P55,000,000 in grants to around 500 eligible small businesses. Approximate amount is around P108,000 divided into P67,500 in cash and P40,000 in optional ad credits, but these are only estimates.

Prepare the following documents in order to apply:

  • SEC registration of business entity
  • Articles of Incorporation or Partnership
  • BIR Certificate of Registration

You can click here to start the application process. Note that you don’t need to have Facebook presence in order to apply but you must be physically present in Metro Manila.
