Facebook Messenger for Android now allows multiple accounts

0

Facebook is making it easier for users who share devices to share their Messenger app as well. Gone are the days when you’d have to login and logout every time you use Messenger on a shared Android device. Facebook is rolling out multiple account support for Android first (no word yet if the feature will make its way to iOS).

So now, you and your family or roommates can each keep your Facebook accounts signed into a shared smartphone or tablet (which is usually a shared device for homes) and fire off messages when you want to. You can opt to lock accounts and have these password-protected or just give easy access to other accounts.

Having access to another person’s account might be invading their privacy. But that feature could help out parents with children who use Facebook. You can check to see if your kids are talking to any unsavory people (of course, if you will do this explain the move and motivation to your kids) while also keeping them from seeing your conversations. Or again, you can just have everyone’s account password-protected to stay drama free.

But what about notifications, you ask? Well, the only thing that will be visible for another’s account is the notification count.
