Discovering Epson innovations

Siargao Islands, Surigao Del Norte—When you think Epson, you most likely think of printers and projectors. Their success in those industries though gives the Japanese tech company a chance to expand in other areas. We got to see this other side of Epson at the brand’s media launch held during its 7th Fusion Media Adventure at the Siargao Bleu Resort & Spa. We list down five of our favorites from the event here:

Moverio Pro BT-2000
We’re inundated by news of advancements in virtual reality for the consumer market. What Epson is focusing on is the industrial and enterprise markets. But instead of just focusing on the virtual space, Epson is working on smart glasses that make use of augmented reality. The Moverio Pro BT-2000 leverages of Epson’s background in optical and precision technologies and is capable of overlaying 3D content over real-world environments. The company sees this technology changing visual communications for industries like repair and maintenance, warehousing and logistics, construction, manufacturing, and automotive, among others.

EH-LS10000
Pushing the boundaries of projectors designed for the home, the EH-LS10000 is the brand’s latest state-of-the-art projector. It’s a 4K projector that promises an “Absolute Black” contrast ratio and comes built with 3LCD reflective panels and a dual laser light source. Epson boasts that this projector will output the blackest of blacks and even more vivid colors. It comes with 1,500 lumens of color brightness and 1,500 lumens of white brightness. Its large form easily takes up some space but it does look like it means some serious business, too.

LabelWorks LW-Z900FK
The LabelWorks line reminds us of neat-freak mothers who need to have everything stored and properly labeled. OCD moms aside, there is also a heavy duty LabelWorks device out there. The LabelWorks LW-Z900FK is an industrial labeling solution that can crossover from industries like construction, IT, medicine, etc. It allows for varying lengths for labels with its mix-length printing option. Plus, the device itself can handle a bit of jostling. It’s made with scratch-durable elastomer material, making it drop impact resistant, and it has a handle for easier transport.
