CESpotlight 2016: Meet Harman/Kardon’s new Omni line

0

Harman/Kardon’s Omni line gets a refresh to compete with the likes of Sonos for king of the home audio market. The Wi-Fi-enabled Omni+ introduces a better high fidelity music streaming experience with its sample rate up to 24-bit/192KHz from 24-bit/96KHz.

The Omni+ line also gets Google Cast support to join stream services like Spotify, Deezer, and Tidal. It still has some catching up to do with Sonos but we welcome the addition.

One of the new speakers gets a more rugged design. The Omni 50+ is splashproof and will be able to work outdoors. These speakers also promise to create a complete multi-channel surround sound system (2.1 or 5.1) without the need of extra equipment.

The updated speaker line will be hitting stores in the US in the summer. The Omni 10+ will retail for US$249 (approx. P11,800), the Omni 20+ will go for $349 (approx. P16,500), the Omni 50+ retails for $499 (approx. P23,600), and the OmniBar+ will cost you a whopping $999 (approx. P47,300).
