As more Filipinos explore electric mobility, access to reliable information on EV technology, safety, charging, and ownership costs is becoming increasingly important. Following its launch in August, ACMobility’s Drive Electric. EV Safety Program continued its rollout at the Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS), helping EV owners, prospective buyers, fleet operators, and the wider public make informed decisions about electric mobility.
For BYD, these efforts complement the support it provides to its growing customer base, including owner communities where drivers can share experiences, learn from one another, and better understand their vehicles.
“We’re glad to see BYD owners building communities where they can learn from and support one another. We want to continue celebrating these groups by helping provide access to relevant information, knowledge, and support throughout the ownership journey. At the same time, listening to our owners gives us an opportunity to learn from their experiences and better understand their needs as we work to grow awareness of electrified mobility in the Philippines,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines.
As BYD’s vehicle lineup expands in the Philippines, so do the communities forming around its different models. From sharing practical ownership advice to joining activities with fellow drivers, these groups give owners a space to exchange experiences, learn more about their vehicles, and help others navigate the shift to electrified mobility.
For many members, the groups began with a simple goal: helping fellow owners. Aaron Estabillo, a BYD Sealion 6 owner and one of the group’s moderator team, says the community allows drivers to learn from one another’s experiences. “The most common benefit is you get to see everything from everyone’s point of view. I learn from other owners the things I may have missed myself,” he said.
These exchanges help owners better understand their vehicles, from exploring features to comparing everyday driving experiences and running costs. For prospective buyers, they also offer firsthand perspectives to consider alongside professional reviews and dealership consultations.
Beyond online discussions, members organize camping trips, outreach programs, and vehicle gatherings that build connections beyond a shared interest in cars. Some also get opportunities to engage with BYD representatives and technical experts.
While owners have different needs and driving habits, many are drawn to BYD for its combination of value, practicality, efficiency, and technology. Through their communities, they can continue learning from one another long after bringing their vehicles home.
By combining EV safety education with the firsthand experiences shared within owner communities, ACMobility and BYD contribute to a better-informed EV community. Whether Filipinos are considering their first electric vehicle or already own one, access to reliable information and shared experiences can help them better understand the technology and what ownership entails.
Together, safety education, charging infrastructure, and after-sales support complement the firsthand advice shared within BYD owner communities, helping drivers make more informed decisions and navigate the realities of electrified vehicle ownership.
