To all BlackBerry fans looking for the latest from the brand, BlackBerry has finally brought in its uniquely-shaped Passport smartphone to our shores. With the size of an actual passport, this device has a 4.5-inch 1440 x 1440 pixel HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and BlackBerry’s latest 10.3 operating system.
You get plenty in terms of storage with 32 GB internal memory and up to 128 GB external capacity. It promises to give you up to 30 hours of battery life with its 3,450 mAh battery, which could be considered heaven sent for power users.
Other features include LTE connectivity, 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with optical image stabilization and 2-megapixel fixed-focus front camera. The Passport has access to both BlackBerry World and Amazon Appstore so you can access both native and Android apps on this device.
What sets it apart from its competitors though is the trademark BlackBerry physical keyboard. This time, though, it isn’t just for typing because it acts as a trackpad as well, meaning you can swipe on the physical keyboard to scroll through Web pages and the like. The phone also works with BlackBerry’s Blend app. It lets you read and respond to messages, update your calendar, and transfer files on the Passport and right to your PC, Mac, or other Android or iOS devices. It uses Wi-Fi or cellular data and the app to link your devices.
All these features comes at a rather steep price though. You can get the new BlackBerry Passport through authorized channels for P35,790 or through upcoming Globe or Smart plans.
