ASUS launches new ZenBook laptops, introduces Isabelle Daza as new ambassador

It’s customary these days for brands to introduce a product alongside a new face to represent the brand. For ASUS, the newest iteration of the ZenBook 3 Deluxe is epitomized by model, actress, and host Isabelle Daza. This new partnership was celebrated with a fashion featuring designs from notable fashion designer Rajo Laurel.

We got to see the new laptops put on display alongside the models, showcasing how these computers aren’t just for work but can serve as fashion statements as well.

While her presence at the event brought star power, understandably the focus of the tech media was still on the new ZenBooks. Let’s take a quick look at the new laptops.

Not to be confused with the earlier versions of the ZenBook 3 Deluxe, ASUS focuses on bringing more power to the new ASUS ZenBook 3 Deluxe (UX490) models. It still maintains its thinness at 12.9mm with weight under 1kg. This time, the laptop comes with a 14-inch Full HD display placed in a 13-inch chassis for better portability. ASUS boasts of the ultra-narrow bezels of the UX490, which comes in at 7.46mm.

It’s powered by the latest Intel Kaby Lake processors (up to 7th-gen Intel Core i7-7500U, 2.7GHz), up to 16GB LPDDR3 RAM, up to 1TB PCI Express SSD (with 512GB and 256GB options), and Windows 10 operating system. ASUS adds three new USB Type-C ports with two that support Thunderbolt 3. Its 46Wh lithium-polymer battery is slated to have up to 10 hours of battery life.

Pricing for the ZenBook 3 Deluxe (UX490) ranges from P81,995 for the 256GB model, to P89,995 for the 512GB model, to P104,995 for the 1TB model. This version comes in Royal Blue and the more subdued Quartz Gray.

Launching alongside the UX490 are two, more affordable options: the ZenBook UX530 and UX430. The UX530 has a 15.6-inch display as opposed to the 14-inch display on the UX430. Both run on 7th-gen Intel Core i7 processors, and up to 512GB SSD. The UX530 has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 discrete graphics and has 16GB DDR4 RAM, while the UX430 has an NVIDIA GeForce 940MX and 8GB DDR4 RAM. The UX530 is available in Quartz Gray and Blue, while the UX430 adds a Rose Gold option.

The UX530 comes in two flavors: the Core i5 version comes in Gray only and is priced at P59,995, while the Core i7 version, which comes in Blue and Grey, is priced at P69,995. The UX430 also has a Core i5 and Core i7 versions, the former is priced at P52,995 and the latter at P59,995. Both come in the three color options.
