Ten years ago, Barack Obama started his first presidential campaign, J.K. Rowling concluded the Harry Potter series, and Tobey Maguire was our Spider-Man. Most importantly, a decade ago, Steve Jobs was still alive. In January of 2007, Jobs launched the first-ever iPhone and simultaneously, skyrocketed the smartphone industry.

For its iconic phone’s tenth anniversary, Apple is launching not one, not two, but three new smartphones destined to break sales before we could even say “hey Siri.” In just a few months, the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X hits the market.

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

For the first time, the iPhone is ditching its all-metal body and going all-glass with its aerospace-grade aluminum band. The series’ 4.7-inch and 5.2-inch screens are fitted with Retina HD, a wider color gamut, 3D Touch, and the new True Tone. With the new technology, the screen automatically adapts to whichever lighting condition you find yourself in.

Equipped with the new A11 Bionic chip, the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus boasts of a 70-percent processing speed increase. The new three-core GPU increases graphics performances by up to 30-percent. This adds to Apple’s efforts to increase their augmented reality capabilities.

It will come installed with the latest iOS 11 which enables sending payments through messaging and additional Siri optimizations.

The new phones are bringing back its popular 12-megapixel rear camera. This time, the camera is packing in more features like better sensors, color filters, optical zoom, and image stabilization. The iPhone 8 line is also putting a premium on portrait photography with sharper foregrounds and better lighting.

Lastly, the iPhone 8 is now compatible with wireless charging. The capability comes as Apple unveils its own portable wireless power mat—the AirPower mat.

Pre-orders start at 12:01am PDT on September 15th. The iPhone 8 retails for $699 while the iPhone 8 Plus retails for $799. It comes in space grey, gold, and silver finishes.

iPhone X

The iPhone’s ten years of success culminates with the iPhone X, an ultra-premium outing that comes with an equally premium price tag.

Last year, the iPhone 7 slashed off the headphone jack. This year, the iPhone X is realizing the true slab phone by eliminating the home button. Instead of a home button, the iPhone X is navigated by simple swipes that can take you anywhere on your phone.

It’s a massive 5.8-inch screen from edge-to-edge-to-edge-to-edge. The Super Retina display is fitted with an industry-first OLED screen, a piece of technology commonly found in 4K TVs. On the outside, the iPhone X goes back to its chrome roots with stainless steel casing from head to toe.

The iPhone X’s biggest feature is its advanced front camera optimized by Face ID technology. Using 30,000 infrared dots, the phone can detect its user’s face for convenient unlocking and payment verification.

Further, Face ID enables a new trend—the Animoji. Similar to the popular streaming app Face Rig, the Animoji feature contours Apple’s iconic emojis according to your face. You’ll be able to send emojis that animate according to your facial expressions.

Under the hood, the iPhone X is equipped with the A11 Bionic chip, the improved 12-megapixel camera, and wireless charging capabilities.

Pre-orders start at 12:01am PDT on October 27th. It retails for $999.
