Apple launched the H2 chip back in 2022 and utilized it first in the AirPods Pro 2. Four years later, it finally made its way into the AirPods Max 2. It will be available in Blue, Purple, Midnight, Starlight, and Orange and is priced at PHP 34,990.

The H2 chip introduces a lot of software features in the new AirPods Max 2. It now has 1.5x better Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), improved Spatial Audio, and a more natural Transparency Mode. It now has Adaptive Audio that adjusts the level of ANC and transparency to optimize sound depending on your environment.

Conversational Awareness lowers your audio volume and reduces background noise at the same time if the device detects you’re talking to someone near. Live Translation also made its way to the AirPods Max but will need to be paired with an iPhone that has Apple Intelligence.

Voice Isolation makes your voice clearer during calls while Siri Interactions lets you respond to Siri with head gestures. It also has a Camera Remote that allows you to take photos and start recording videos by pressing the crown.

It also supports 24-bit 48 kHz lossless audio which is studio grade. Combined with the new high-dynamic range amplifier, the AirPods Max 2 has significantly improved audio quality. However, you’ll need to use the USB-C cable in order to fully support this lossless feature. It also has Loud Sound Reduction and Personalized Volume that learns your preference over time.

The surprising thing is there’s nothing new in the design. It has the same look, the handbag case, and battery life. In a time where its rivals are reaching 30 hours or more of usage, the AirPods Max 2 still has a 20-hour listening time with Active Noise Cancellation and Spatial Audio enabled.

The AirPods Max 2 will be available soon in Apple’s online store or in local authorized dealers nationwide.
